San Juan- The president of the Kinesis Foundation, José Enrique Fernández, announced the creation of three scholarships for Puerto Rican students with talent in the field of fashion design, digital marketing and programming, this being product of the recent alliance between the academic public organization, the Valija Gitana chain of stores and the collaboration of Loíza Dark chocolates.
“The fact that Puerto Rican companies, such as the Valija Gitana chain of stores, have joined our mission as an educational transformation entity in Puerto Rico fills us with great joy and satisfaction, since it means that students in Puerto Rico have one more ally joining the effort so that more students on the island have more and better opportunities to achieve their university goals”, said Fernandez.
“This shows that the union of wills can change a country. We thank the Valija Gitana chain for wanting to contribute to the academic and professional development of our students”, he added.
For his part, Bobby Van Kirk, president of Valija Gitana, explained that the chain of stores successfully raised $6,600, an amount reached thanks to the sale of Loíza Dark chocolate.
“We are very proud of all the effort, since we offered our clients the opportunity to support the education of Puerto Rico while they tried some products made on the island by a local agricultural company. In addition to the money we were able to raise, we were delighted to be able to inform our clients about the efforts of the Kinesis Foundation to improve the education of Puerto Rico and about the delicious Loíza Dark chocolate products”, he declared.
“With the money raised, we want to contribute $2,200 towards the university studies of three young people in Puerto Rican universities in the fields of fashion design, digital marketing and programming. Lastly, we are in talks with Juan Carlos Vizcarrondo, (entrepreneur and founder) of Loíza Dark, to offer their products all year long and thus raise even more funds and continue to inform our customers about Kinesis”, he assured.
The sale of Loíza Dark chocolates will continue for a year in the Valija Gitana stores, and the creation of more scholarships for students is expected. The goal of the partnership is to reach an annual donation of up to $25,000.
