Jonathan completed his high school education at Escuela República de Costa Rica and earned his bachelor's degree in Horticulture from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, in 2023, receiving the Kinesis scholarship thanks to the agriculture scholarship from the Fonalledas Foundation. Now, with even bigger dreams, he is pursuing a master's degree in Horticulture at the same university.
From a youthful age, Jonathan has felt a deep connection with the land. This unwavering passion also earned him the Alumnos y Amigos UPRAA Foundation scholarship. His dedication led him to win second place at Enterprise 2023 and become an active participant in Leading Hispanics USDA.
In his free time, Jonathan finds peace and joy in planting and harvesting. He also loves spending time with friends, going to the movies, running, and discovering new places in Puerto Rico.
Jonathan's life changed the day he learned about the Kinesis Foundation through "Agroinnova," a program for farmers in Caguas. He did not hesitate to reach out, knowing he needed support and guidance to achieve his dream of becoming an agronomist.
“Kinesis has been my guiding light. They have provided me with financial support, resources, networking, and crucial academic backing. Thanks to them, I have had the opportunity to meet donors and the wonderful team," Jonathan expresses with gratitude.
Jonathan acknowledges that the Kinesis Foundation has been key in developing the skills necessary for his academic achievements, keeping him focused on his studies. "This foundation is committed to making students' dreams come true. It has been a pillar in my life," he affirms.
Upon completing his master’s degree, Jonathan has a clear dream: to join the USDA and develop his own agricultural business called "From My Land to My People, Corp." He encourages other young people to join Kinesis, to be part of this successful family, and to boldly pursue their dreams.
